Oh yes we are BACK with an accomodation review as you get ready to plan your winter trips for 2025! As seasoned Mt Buller visitors we definitely know what the best is on offer for you and your family this winter at Mount Buller. Today we are going to talk about Breathtaker Hotel and Spa at Mount Buller. Our favourite spot for ski in and out! This post is not sponsored at all, we just can’t help but rave about our experience at Mt Buller’s best hotel.
Hotel
Nestled in the heart of Mt Buller’s alpine village, the Breathtaker Hotel and Spa offers a luxurious retreat for snow lovers and mountain adventurers alike. Just 80 metres from the slopes, this premium boutique hotel combines comfort, convenience, and style, making it a top choice for ski-in, ski-out accommodation. Guests can unwind in the full-service day spa, soak in the heated indoor pool, or enjoy après-ski dining at the hotel’s in-house restaurant and bar. With a range of well-appointed rooms and family-friendly amenities, Breathtaker delivers a warm and relaxing escape after a day on the mountain.
Rooms
Breathtaker Hotel and Spa have a diverse range of apartments to suit you for your stay. Cosy and clean with some of the best amenities on offer such as a drying cupboard, complimentary Wi-Fi as well as an electric fireplace/heating for the ultimate vibe. Our room comfortably fit 6 people (3 couples) for a long weekend of snowboarding and skiing. Not to mention they provided included breakfast delivered straight to your door at a time that suits you best, the pancakes were delicious in my opinion and it made sure you were fuelled and ready to hit the slopes bright and early. Also included was a locker cage to store all of our gear in, it helped give us some peace of mind that our precious equipment was safe and stored appropriately.
Staff and Customer Service
If Breathtaker only does one thing best, then it is their customer service. Their staff are incredibly attentive, kind and helpful. As soon as we arrived when it was bucketing down with snow, staff came through the front doors and were there ready to help us with our bags and a seamless check in process. It was one of the best customer service experiences I have had in Australian resorts. Unfortunately, Kalan had a serious injury on our second day of our stay and couldn’t snowboard for the rest of the trip, however the staff did an excellent job of keeping him as comfortable as possible, letting him stay in the room even later than our check out time until the shuttle arrived to take us down the mountain and checking in to see if he was okay. Breathtaker managment should be very proud of their staff as they really went above and beyond to make our stay really enjoyable.
Below Snowline Transfer Service
The Below Snowline Transfer Service offered us a seamless and stress-free journey to Mt Buller. Designed for convenience, this pre-booked service picked us up from designated points below the snowline—typically in Mirimbah—and delivered us directly to the hotel door in comfort and style. It eliminated the need to navigate snowy roads or worry about chain fitting and public parking, allowing us to relax and enjoy the scenic trip up and down the mountain. With reliable drivers and well-equipped vehicles, this transfer service was the perfect start to a hassle-free alpine getaway. The driver also did an excellent job of keeping Kalan as comfortable as possible on the trip down the mountain with his injury, a true 5 star service.
